Melly! It's GAWJUS! I love it. Congrats you...happy dance here (spills lunch off of plate)....It looks great and you would never EVER know you ran out of whatever at whatever point !!! Sleep well.
Beautiful, Mel! Don't forget to completely finish it off - I have a horrible habit of not framing (or whatever) the pieces that are for me! Get some rest - those 6 day work weeks take a lot out of a girl!
Mel, it looks so good! Congrats on the nice finish. AND I don't think the new skein is noticeable at all since you've gotten it all backstitched!!! So, what's up next for YOU???
That came out really sweet! The backstitching makes it perfect. Wish I could see how pretty the metallics shine - I imagine it looks like the sparkle on real snow. Great job!
Morning all, thank you so much for your kind words! I am sooo happy with this finish!
Claire, thanks for the happy dance! I hope you didn't spill any of that on clothing or stitching :)
Paula, its going to the framers today! I may not be able to pay for it for a few weeks, but its going in today! We were going to go yesterday, but I should know better when shopping with P's mum ... she considers it an "outing" and will take all day!
Laura, and everyone else who commented on the floss change, you are right, you cannot tell. Actually the lower part of the chart looks a touch darker than the upper - mainly because the bottom has more metallic backstitch, whereas the top has a large swathe of light cotton, so the colour change looks almost deliberate!
Tracy, I took it outside yesterday morning, put it in direct sunlight and took some pictures with my old 35mm camera. When I get them developed (need to finish the roll first) I'll try to get a pic up on my webshots site. Hopefully one of them will be in focus. In the meantime in case anyone is interested, the fabric is Crystal Glacier from Picture this Plus. http://www.picturethisplus.com/html/crystals_2_12.html
As to what's up next for me - finishing Rhiannon! I've decided to get MIX part 6 done first. The start work on P's birthday present during the week. Then when he is visiting on the weekends, I will work on Rhiannon - so both will get done. P is too interested in what I am doing - he will definitely notice if I'm stitching something on *his* fabric and thread LOL
Mind you, I'm also waiting on the Midi 2 kit (for me) I have St Sylvestre all kitted up (for me), I still have to finish off Midi 1 (for me) finish TW's The Dragon (for me) finish Catherine of Aragon (for me) ... etc etc. etc. And I am also getting Tracy's alchemical romance and new circles charts sometime soon. Although I think Paul has his eye on the circles one - I definitely think he will be selecting colours for that one himself again!
