And who followed her around and put cushions in all her new favourite spots ...
Seeing as I'd been asked repeatedly, here are pics of my Trubby. The first one is when we first brought her home from the RSPCA. The other pics were taken a couple of months ago.

Ah hah, the same pics as webshots. She's such a cutie!!!
Very cute Mel! I can see why you brought Trouble home :)
Mel, what a cutie!!
Awwwww, how cute!!
That just isn't a face you can resist, now is it?
I'll take some more photos of her shortly ...... thanks for the compliments - I passed them all on, and she's preening and purring.
There were neatly 100 kittens at the RSPCA when we visited and she just shone out!
Awww, she's adorable - I can see why you picked her! I'd love to have a cat as well as a dog, but J has such a horribly allergy to cats that it's either a cat or him - and most days I'd pick him lol.
One of my lovers I had shortly after my marriage breakup is allergic to cats. I had one room in my house that was completely cat free and Trub was not allowed in there. That's the room we spend time in when he came to visit. But he knew that Trub was there first and therefore took precedence in the rest of the house :)
Great picture....love the dangling tail....too funny!
You can see why I *had* to take this photo !!!!!
such a sweet cat! but how could you call this sweet looking thing trouble?!!
Even cuter! Great silhouette and that tail.....looks like she shares it with the Possum!
Oh Hilary - I'll tell you the story of how Trouble got her name when I'm not running late for work ....
I'll hold you to that!
Ok seeing as I'm uploading pics the 'puter is running slow anyway, so make yourselves comfortable .... take a loo break ... make sure you have snacks - you've seen how long some of my rambles can go on for ...
Actually its a pretty simple story really. I fell in love with her at the RSPCA, we bought her, declined the offer of a cardboard container and I carried her out to the car in my arms .... she was such a tiny little thing she almost fitted in my hand - we were told she was out weeks old - the vets later told she must have been barely 5 weeks!
Anyway being the driver I got behind the wheel and shut my door, then my then-fiancee got in the passenger side and shut the door. I then went to hand her over to him for the trip home.
She jumped out of my hands, down my body and up the foot petals and up and into the electrical wiring in the back of the dashboard.
We could not go in after her. We could not entice her out. We could not get her out. I could not turn the engine on with her there. Did I mention this was in Australia in December ..... middle of summer. Middle of the day ......
Fifteen minutes it took me to coax her out of there. Trouble she was thus named and in amusing ways she has loved up to that name ever since!
ok good reason to name her trouble! LOL I bet it was fun seeing the two of you trying to coax a small fluffball out of the wiring!
Trubs seems to be pretty comfortable in the midst of all those stitching supplies :-)
Oh boy, THE look is being employed by Trubs. How's she coping with the idea of all those hours in her kitty carrier?
Well now I know how you finished Garden Cat so quickly. Trubs has Corn and Beans pinned under her foreleg and was MAKING you finish her kitty first.
If you look closely you will see she was also sleeping on the threads for *your* RR too !!!
That shot actually has the materials for all four of the projects I touched at mum's all mixed in and all being slept on by Trubs :) :) :)
She was in the carrier for nearly 8 hours. She complained the first three hours and then went to sleep for the rest of the trip. She woke occassionally, yowled indgnantly at me, and then went back to sleep :)
My son (9yo) came and looked at the picture and in his best little lovey voice said, "Aw, what a cute little kitty". I must say I have to agree!
Oh, too funny!! I hadn't noticed but I recognize them now that you pointed it out, LOL.
LOL, I can just see that...
Is that a blind cord there??? That could be a huge danger to her. Some animals have been strangled in them. Just thought I would alert you to that.
Nancy, yes it is a blind cord and for any other animal I would agree with you. Trubs however has been around them all her life and she just bats them out of her way ...
Don't cats just love boxes! I've bought something in a fairly big one and Söckli and Minou still occasionally play with that box!
She looks so small in that bed :-)
Does she venture outside of the yards?
What a cutie kitten she was!
The trouble with kittens is that they grow into cats.... errr.... Trouble :-)
I remember those days with mine, but they were over so fast!
I THINK she is right in the middle - blending in nicely!
I've seen her squish herself into a shoebox too - there's definitely a link between cats and boxes!
Its the angle of the shot - I only have a Queen size bed :)
No. There are dogs on either side of us and too many cars and strangers outside the front gate. If I'm putting the bins out or have some other reason for having the front gate open, she will walk to the edge of the gate and look around but she wont put one paw outside the gate! If she sees any other animals moving she scurries back inside the house.
She really is a fraidy cat and getting worse as she gets older. In some ways this is a good thing because she wont get into any fights ....
I've had people tell me its not the same cat because her markings changed so much.
But that IS my Trub - and yeah, kitten stage is over so quickly ....
Mind you I like my older cat. I think when she passes on I would be looking to adopt an older cat from the RSPCA - not sure I have the energy to cope with kittens anymore .....
Yep! It is definitely a good thing! If she's happy like that I wouldn't counteract it :-)
I can tell you that even though Minou is a scaredy one he'd be out exploring for a while in no time. He'd be right home with mummy again after not much further time, too :-)
Söckli would be out exploring as well, I guess.
There are no boundaries in our garden, they can go away easily and there are loads of cats and a good number of foxes in the area, but both usually stay close to the house (lots of shrubbery allows them to hide underneath)
I can see that - she's not so well defined in her colours anymore, isn't she?
My Sarah was a wonderful old lady. Even a short time before I had to put her to sleep she was still running around the garden and up the trees! All black, you wouldn't have known she was so old. I still miss my old gal, in spite of the young ones.
Have to say that both, Minou and Söckli, have grown up into somewhat lazier cats than Sarah was. It's comfortable, of course, and if I play with them they still get very active.
No doubt looking for the broken bits from her old cat tower.
Buzz has to get inside every box no matter how small compared to his fat size.
Every project has to have the appropriate quota of cat hair!
There's paper, so there has to be a cat attached..
That's a cat on a mission....
They may have started out in a litter together but that was a long time ago LOL
Look at the bliss on that adorable face!
She's slipping though cos there's definitely cat on the outside carpet!
In the smallest spot possible!
Thus making you a very good cat mum!
Erm hello, it is "her" bed...you are merely someone she allows to sleep in it with her at night.
Naturally....you are not allowed to have an unimcatpeded view.
Good spot Hilary....!
Mums place is like that and she roams for miles - but mum lives in a rural area. Here there are definite "safe" zones and not safe zones clearly delineated by large walls. She's happy in her own patch here because she knows its safe!
Nope. Trubs is two years older than Hemingway. Hemingway was the last of our four during the marriage. She was given to my ex by a self0-absorbed friend. So called friend was moving to Sydney and couldn't take her kitten with her, so she gave it to my ex as a birthday present, pretty much guaranteeing that he could not say no.
Yes I'm the 5'2" bed warmer :)
That looks like one contented cat!
