Unhappy stitching news

The lighting at Mr NTB's place is not good enough for me to reliably stitch on black or stitch to a great enough degree of accuracy and uniformity on any other colour.

So Black Bloomers and Claire's Round Robin will be put to one side until we move and I can set up my usual stitching spot.

I hope this doesn't upset too many people - I just really feel embarrassed if I do a shoddy job on either of those projects.

I'll stitch on some of my own projects where uniformity and quality of work is not great :)

I'll hopefully get back to these in a couple of weeks .....

Sounds fair to me considering that neither of those pieces impact my projects :-).
Why not start a quickie trivial piece like one of the christmyth ornaments?

Because I don't have those with me either :) :)

Good to see you back in the 'world' Mel. Even if you are speaking some foreign lingo!

Eep...how frustrating....can't imagine you sitting there doing nothing so I hope the light is ok to read by at least.

Considering the patterns fir the christmyths are free, I shall email you them tomorrow

Oh man - what a bummer.....

Somehow I'm seeing the stitching spot being the very first thing unpacked in the new place :) And then it will have to be Trubs-approved, right?

So you've not managed to convince Mr NTB's to buy/borrow you a portable daylight lamp?

Janine Smith said...

Mel, If you have time drop out to see me. I have a spare lamp you can use.

I can't imagine ANY spot bright enough to work on black :o) Just another reason why we all need so many projects going at once.

Mr NTB does have a lamp, but not the right height for me, and not the right sort of bulbs. As we are on a tight single income income for the next fortnight or so while we finalise the move and its associated costs, I thought it would be easier to wait for a while rather than to add to our expenses right now.

I DO have other pieces to work on. I didn't leave myself completely bereft of all stitching - sorry if it seemed that way :(

I'll drag one of the small things out later and see if they are easier - like Tracy's ornament kit from last Christmas.

Or I have a couple of small Anagram Diffusion monochrome pieces I can quickly obtain red thread and white fabric for :)

Plus there's the wii of course - Animal Crossing is a bad bad bad game - its cutesyness belies its evilness!

Bah...Just can't spoil some people :-)

Just schoosing the teeny weeny project to take to Phuket with us. Looking like one of the Heaven&earth Storykeeps is the item of choice (perfect plane stitching)

Pooh! But I agree, I'd rather work on something else in this case.

You're far better off not doing anything that's not up to your standard :-)

The move draws nearer anyway, doesn't it? You'll survive until then...

Looks like it's plastic canvas time again. Isn't Animal Crossing a great time suck?

Mel, don't worry about the RR. I've put myself on a much better schedule and am stitching regularly so, even if it needs to come to my home late, I'll be able to work on it immediately. I'm at the point now where I'm nearly ready to just concentrate on some of my own projects so don't FRET!
