Mel's "What day is it?" Update

Well life has had its downs recently and now it has a few ups.

I've landed a part time role at my local library as a skills librarian - a training role.  This is quite different to anything I've been formally hired to do before so I'm actually looking forward to it.  I start on 15 June 2009.  Its only part time and very poorly paid, but any money is better than no money.

I've also been stitching a lot lately.  As the above pic shows, I have two main forms of therapy and I get depressed when I don't pay attention to both of them.

I have updated my finished album.  I have three pieces finished so far this year and they are all Inkcircles designs.  This is pure serendipity!

I've finished my section on Claire's RR in our private round robin.

I've finally finished Part 2 of Vienna Ball.  On the day that Part 7 is released!

But I'm making progress and life looks like it might be on the way up.  I even got half of my books unpacked and on the shelves yesterday.  Now just to get the unpacking fairies to unpack while I sleep so I can spend the last remaining week of unemployment stitching.  Unfortunately that is not likely :(

Good to see you back here. And better that things are looking up for you.

Madam Trubs definitely looks a little concerned, possibly by the wolf, possibly by recent events.
Stitching looks great behind her though :)
Skills training...should be fun. Something you will be great at. Enjoy.
Off to visit the albums and comment there:)

Wahoo! My RR looks fabulous, thank you.I love it. Such a pretty piece and your Laziest Daisies are lovely.

The wolf is a blanket own by Mr NTB. Trubs adores it and has claimed it as her own! I think she was more concerned that I was pointing the camera in her direction :)

They should be renamed as there is nothing lazy about them! I spent more time and effort on those daisies than I did on the rest of the stitching in total!

Claire EJ said...

I shall rename them as "time consuming bastard daisies to be known as tcbd"...that work for you?

[dammit, go look at my flipping Peonies WIP]

Again...I'm sure she finds that whole thing yawnworthy, just as Buzz does.

The flash annoys her. And its a dull dreary rainy day here today.

Ummm twitter me a direct link please? I'm working through my inbox but its a bit overwhelming - I've found your weekend peony flower album ......

BRILLIANT !!!!!!!!! Bastard daisies they are !

Fantastic name. I have loads to do on Japanese Garden and they are the main reason I stopped.

Claire EJ said...

PMSL...want me to do them? I actually enjoy doing TCBDs, and Queen Stitch.

I like Jessicas - will trade daisies for Jessicas :) :) :)

I had not done Jessicas before last week on Mariann's RR piece. Those were my first ever and the Evil Wench [tm] told me to count carefully.
Simple, and effective. Very easy to do. I like them.

I'll do Jessicas and Lazy Daisies any time - have a bit less fun with the Queen Stitch and don't know why that is, but I love all of that stuff.

Yep, knowing how to count the threads on Jessicas is all it takes to get them done easily. I always do them in the blocks per side. Can't go wrong no matter what size they are.

Great progress on all things - hope the job turns into something wonderful and completely unexpected! The unpacking will happen - and if at some point you've still got unopened boxes years from now - pitch them. We did :)

Great news on the job front! So what if it's part time - you never know where it will lead! Love the stitching, and Trubs looks so gorgeous sitting there!

So excited to hear you've found a bit of work! I know that just having someplace to go and something to do will help, even if it is not the perfect job. Part time means you'll still have time to stitch :o)

BTW, I'm honored to have dominated your FO pile. Did you also finish up a little slinky dress stitch this year?

Glad to hear that things are looking up. Since the rule is generally that it's easier to find a job when you have one, this may lead to places you never imagined!

Off to look at the links and leave comments..

Don't know about there but here it's Wednesday.
Has Matron left the front door open again Mel?

Great to see you back in action again. I'm sure you will feel much better being employed again, even if it is only part time. Good luck with the unpacking. I've still got boxes unpacked and we've been here 21 years.

Congrats on getting a job! I hope it goes well and can turn into somethjing full time. Nice job on the stitching!

Congrats on the job! The unpacking will come with time and what you don't miss, well do you really want it unpacked??? Off to go look at the links, but the drapes above look wonderful!!!

Not yet! The Moscow kit was short a little beige and a lot of white Lana thread. I sent away to Vervaco and they sent back a little white and a lot of beige thread. I still have to unpack the original chart again to send the thread back to them and get the right amount shipped back this time.

So no Moscow still cannot be finished ... these things happen. You know I am tempted to stitch up your other limited edition ornament just to keep the flow on the finished folder going :) :) :) Problem is I would then have to find THAT in the unpacked stash also :)

Matron? Is she the one who gives me those nice pills each morning ????
