Rhiannon - almost there

Well all of the stitching is done. She's washed and ironed. All I need to do is to add the beads and I'm done.

Gosh I'm feeling good about this :)

I'm working all day tomorrow (Friday) and Saturday and going out for dinner tomorrow night and having visitors around Saturday night - so the beads will hopefully go on Sunday morning and then she will be complete and ready for the framers.

Updated can pic can be seen here or in my Rhiannon album.

Thank you lovely ladies - so how's the world treating you Nate? Got any chance at stitching lately? How did the new prac trainer go? Did you graduate on time?

Wow this is stunning! I have her in my very large to-do pile! (how did you find the stitching - other people have complained about the headress)

Hilary, The metallics are a pain! The chart is quite easy and nicely laid out - but the Kreinik blending thread is such a pain to work with - a few times I had wished I had subbed it out and replaced it with Rainbow Gallery Petite Treasure Braid. I personally don;t think the BF gives enough coverage on the 28ct fabric - even when using two threads - I much prefer the coverage by the RG braid. I used the RG braid on Mayet and Iuaa and I wouldn't go back for all the world :)

The chart for Rhiannon isn't that difficult. I found the gold edge to the hood to be very frustrating but I believe that was a combination of stitching while tired and struggling with the metallic thread

{yawn} hope this is coherent enough to answer your questions - I'll look at this again tomorrow - just got back from a party and its time to go sleepies now :)

I know you've finished by now, but I'm going through post by post LOL. She's gorgeous here.

Hilary, I've got her as a WIP also, and I swapped the BF out for #4 braid (also Kreinik) in the same colors because it was much easier to work with and gave better coverage.

Yup - I've started doing that now - I did it with the Egyptian pieces for mum - but I don't know why I didn't do it for this - sigh!

Its a very very good recommendation for anyone starting this piece!

So Paula - when are you finishing yours :) And what's the holdup for you?

Paula Hubert said...

LOL the holdup is that little dare that *SOME* folks made for me to have Noah finished by February! It's really a shame, though.. I'm sure if I pulled her out, I could probably finish her off in a weekend.

Melissa Hicks said...

{innocent look} Which people? I don't remember any people daring you to do that - do you remember anyone daring her to do that Claire ??????

Go on - treat yourself to a weekend and get her finished :) It will give you the impetus needed to move faster on Noah's Sub :)

There's a dramatisation of Hogfather coming up next month on Sky. Very much looking forward to it.
