Wow! I just clicked on the picture to enlarge it and the detail is incredible. The beads on the earring give such a stunning effect! Happy, Happy dance.

Woo-hoo - congratulations. Those beads make such a difference as well.

Thanks all - from the cover pic I assumed the beads in the earring would vastly outshine everything else - but in real life it is much more balanced - the metallics in the hood shine as much as the earring beads and the straight cotton floss doesn't sink int ot he background anywhere near as much as it does on the cover pic.

Thanks again all - I'm very very happy that this one is finished :)

It looks simply fabulous, Mel. Makes me think about digging her out of my stash. No wait, I have too many others to do first... anyway, congrats on getting her done. Now what?

Awww c'mon Teegs - she's a quick stitch if you don't get frustrated with the metallic thread like I did :)

And as for what's next - well I put 40 stitches into Cirque yesterday and then frogged 20 of them - so I might go back to that or I might get stuck back into Mystery IX. I might see if I can part 9 of Mystery IX finished and then I'll reward myself by stitching up either Black Beauty or Something in Red (Designs by Lisa) I got the threads for those in the mail today and they look gorgeous and quick stitches too! Just waiting on the fabric now .....

Do me a favor, will ya? Go look at the Oddly-Angled Sampler album again. I've added other possible flosses and a completely different fabric and floss option. And I'm really leaning towards the new one because it's just plain different.

Done :) Although I *still* disagree with everyone else - so I'm not sure you really want *me* to respond :)

Melissa Hicks said...

Thanks - I *am* oddly proud of myself for finishing her and not letting the metallics beat me :)

It turned out wonderfully! Great work!

You win a blue ribbon! She came out beautifully - one would never know the hurdles you had to jump to make it come out. Maybe she knows; she has a look in her eyes that she is hiding a secret.

Great job, Mel! I do love her!

Melissa Hicks said...

Thank you ladies, I am very very happy with how she turned out - she's straight off to the framers on Friday :)

And yes Tracy she seems to have streetwise knowing smile on her lips doesn't she :)

ooooh! she looks incredible! (I am almost dreading getting round to her in my todo pile! I would be scared of making a huge muck up of her!)

Melissa Hicks said...

Hilary, apart from the dreaded metallics - she's quite an easy stitch to do! If I'd have worked on her solidly I would have had her done in say 60 hours?

really stunning. Congratulations. I'll clear a space on my walls to hang it for you!!!!!!!!!

Melissa Hicks said...

Thank you Kay but not a hope :) I'm so proud of myself for finishing this one that she's going up on my own walls - I still have none of my own work on my own walls (except for Iuaa for a couple more weeks before he comes down and gets wrapped under the Xmas tree for my mum)!
