Wow, these look fabulous!!! I need to dig through my stash and see if I have any of those colors - too bad I just changed my Fiber of the Month from DD to Thread Gatherer; that's my usual bad timing....

Gorgeous, they even look soft LOL!!

Nancy Murdock said...

Very cool colors!! I know how soft they are I only have 2 but I love to fondle them.

OOOOhhh Very nice Mel! I love all the thread! Do you have plans for the pattern you are going to do this with?

Ok, I caved. It is on it's way from Stitches and Spice! LOL! I seem to be doing a ton of over seas ordering lately! Dragon Floss, fabric, silks! I am actually going to start Assign. 1 of TGOS Mystery Sampler today. I got up at 4 a.m. on my day off to get the cleaning, animals, and e-mail all done so I can have longer to stitch today!!! Someone shoot me later, cus I have to be up at 4 a.m. tomorrow for work. I am going to be one tired puppy!! LOL!!

Happy Stitching!

So how did you go Chele? I've spent a few hours on it this afternoon and finally got two whole motifs finished !!! Such a pitiful amount but I'm so proud of my progress because its first progress I've made all week!

I bet you've already finished more than me {LOL}

kay jones said...

So where is the piccie?

Melissa Hicks said...

Well its still only Saturday I thought I might try and fool myself into getting a third a motif finished before tomorrow's update .....

Hi Mel,

The stitching went really really well except for one small typing error!! I listed the wrong project. I was actually starting Assignment 1 of Indigo Rose Desiderata not the Mystery Sampler. I am still waiting for that to arrive in the mail from Austrailia! I got all the G done on Desiderata except the Waterlillies Peacock. That arrived in yesterdays mail so I can add that tomorrow and start on the first segment of wording. I really wish my pretties would come for the Sampler though!!! Or my stand!!!

Pretty! I can't wait to see this thing in it entirety! That deer is very cool - how often do you see a deer shown laying down? Good start, Mel!

Nancy Murdock said...

Great start even if you didn't have much train time this week!!

Michele Anderson said...

This is gorgeous!! I am so glad I ordered it exactly the way it is supposed to be stitched!

Looking great! I'm still working on the first flower motif...hope to finish up that part before the evening is over. The Dinky Dyes are sure fun to stitch with!

illianna bech said...

Very beatiful work. I also uses to have 2 strands of floss for 32 ct. but it is looking very "oldish" with 1 strand :-)

Mariann Mäder said...

Very pretty, Mel! And a good start!

In my experience, silks cover a bit better than cottons, so I'd expect them to cover quite nicely on 32ct.

Paula Hubert said...

It looks great, Mel! I'm debating now between ordering the conversion from Vikki or just saving my pennies to do the Dinky Dyes. I do love DD's silks!

Pennie Boots said...

Very pretty Mel...and no mince meat also. =) Great start my friend.

Claire EJ said...

I still refuse to succumb even if I do adore how it looks...I simply adore the floral motif with the heart....nope, not gonna succumb....not gonna happen!

Melissa Hicks said...

{evil grin} There's another 11 and half months of this to tempt you with!!!!

more if I continue like I have been doing and playing computer games instead of stitching - bought the latest expansion to Civilization 4 on Saturday and have barely turned it off since!

Melissa Hicks said...

I love vikki's threads but I had never used DD silks before. I strongly recommend the DD silks - they are as good to work with as Vikki's threads, no tangling, super soft - but the colours match perfectly !!!!!

The colours just suit the fabric perfectly! if you are going to change the fabric, then by all means change the floss, but if you are using the Stitches n Spice Celtic, then I would definitely say save your pennies for the DD silks!

Claire EJ said...

Unless some exceedingly evil person sends me the entire thing all kitted up, it ain't gonna happen!! And that is not a hint for anyone out there to do said thing!.

kay jones said...

You DO REALIZE EVIL MEL that I have just had to go and subscribe to GOS. Bad BAD Mel.

kay jones said...

Forgot to say that you have done well in the first piece. Lovely colours and OF COURSE, beautiful stitching (creep creep grovel)

Melissa Hicks said...

{LOL} Love you Kay !!!! Really I do !!!!

Now how's that model job coming along .....

Michele Anderson said...

Yeah, my fabric and threads came in the mail today!!! BUT I spent the day shuffling filing cabinets around the house and then started back in on the huge pile of freebies! Oh and Mel, your glowing eyed black cat over the pumpkin - All Mine I think it is called. I think I have that as a freebie downstairs. I need to go look at your Lust List to be sure it is the same one.
