HOUSE HOUSE HOUSE !!!!!!!!
Guess what ???
I got it! I got it! I got it !!! I got the scrummy house I wanted !!!!!! I collect the keys and start moving in on Wednesday 26 July.
I leave this crappy place and these crappy neighbours forever on Tuesday 1 August! I can't believe the real estate has it listed already !!!!!
The timetable is as follows:
Now until Tues 25th - work, sleep, de-clutter and pack.
Wed 26th - collect keys, go check it out and fill in inspection report. Mum arrives Wed pm.
Thurs - Mum and I go shopping for a new bed for me (and possibly some other furniture)
Fri & Sat - move all the furniture and boxes.
Sun - working !!! Can't knock back 4.5 hours of double-time.
Mon - clean the old place.
Tues - get the carpets dry cleaned, pass final inspection, hand over keys and kiss this neighbourhood goodbye forever !!!!
Wed-Fri - unpack, stitch and relax before returning to normal work on Saturday 5 August.

Wow. I am soooo happy for you. I can just see you now jumping up and down!!! I hope the move goes well. I sympathise with all the packing/sorting/cleaning as I am in the middle of it all too at the moment.
I think moving house rates third in the list of all-time high stresses, losing a loved one and divorce being the two highest. It'll be fine - just a lot of work to do :)
Good luck Somayya! I hope you are moving somewhere nice too! Many empathic hugs!
Doin' a giant Snoopy dance for you!!!!!!!!!!! Wooo Hooo!! I know moving's a pain - lots of "smooth" moving thoughts for both you and Somayya! I wouldn't want to do it again right away.. even if I *am* not totally unpacked yet!
Oh Mel!! Wonderful news. I looked at the pics again and it looks wonderful . I know you will be happy there!
Thanks Paula and Claire! I know I will too - its just the getting to that point that's the hassle. I can already envisage being out on that balcony stitching with a cool spring breeze, the cat asleep on the window sill, Paul making dinner in the kitchen .....
I'm keeping that image firmly in mind [LOL]
Yeah! I am so happy for you :) And Claire is right, that house does look great for you ! And moving will go faster than you think, especially because it is a move that you want!
Can I come and visit????
That looks like a really nice place! Love that staircase outside and the huge windows to the balcony!
Congrats, Mel, you deserve this!
It looks wonderful! I love the balcony and those windows! And that you will be surrounded by trees! I think I like that part best. Like Paula said, it'll be a smoother move because it's one you WANT to make.
Yup- I'm sooo looking forward to this! I love being in the bush! Its my natural habitat I think :) Most people around here are beach bunnies, but give me to the cool green quiet and birds any day of the week !!!!!! I'm going to take some shots of the front of the house with my 35mm during the week and pop them up so you can see the rest of the area.
And yes Mariann, you and/or anyone else on this contacts list are welcome to visit. Either give me a few days notice or bring chocolate/stash bribe :) Hmmm I never did arrange that chocolate for Aussie pattern swap with you! That got lost by the wayside somewhere ......
Don't know when... but if I DO get to come to Australia the chocolate stash would certainly come along to change hands, LOL!
It would be a reason to get a move and take my next vacation to follow all those around me who already did visit Australia. All of them say they'd love to go back... have a brother who lived in Melbourne for a short while. Still talks about it...
Congratulations!!! I'm SO happy for you!
We have friends in Victoria, somewhere near Melbourne (crap at Aussie geography), so when we visit them, it's a visit to Mel and Trubby too ! Neat
We I'm 10 hours drive from Melbourne :) But I'll happily visit my friends in Melbourne when you come for a visit - how's that sound :) Or you can take a couple of days and visit me :)
And Mariann, you are most certainly welcome to visit!
Wonderful! Although I don't envy the packing! (I'm overwhelmed just packing to go the coast for a week - and not a beach bunny coast, this is a stormy northern coast.) But it sure sounds like the trouble will be well worth it. The countryside and the distancing from crappy neighbors you describe sounds inviting - I'm anxious to see the photos.
