Fabric stashing

Morning all,

Had a fun stashing time the other night. I ordered some fabric from Picture This Plus.

1/8 yard 28 ct "Monet" Crystal Cashel linen for Kaleidoscope by Keslyn's.

1/4 yard 28 ct "Meditation" Jazlyn fabric for My Castle by X's &Oh's

1.4 yard 32ct "Phoenix" Crystal Belfast linen for Cirque de Cercles by Ink Circles.

Will send pics of actual fabric swatches when they arrive - it will be a couple of weeks as some of the pieces are out of stock and need to be dyed.

ROFL...Monet is the fabric Donna bought for me which I refuse to stitch on. It is simply BEAUTIFUL. I just can't cover it with floss and want to use it as a table top possibly under glass. It's a fabulous colour Mel, you'll love it! Let me know what you think when it arrives.

Ohhh, are you going to use white floss then for Cirque? That will be so pretty!

Well, gee, Mel... you should let me know if you want something from PTP! We seem to make bimonthly pilgrimages out there!

Hi Melissa,

Those are gorgeous!! I need to order 1/2 yard of Crystal Zephyr for Corolia a mermaid design by Jodi Watson. Drawn by Renee Biertempfel. Here is a link to the print of it.

Great stashing. I just got Corolia in the mail and have 4 Lavender Wing patterns on the way to me too.

Beautiful choices!

Yup - haven't decided on whether to use DMC white, DMC bright white, Glow-in-the-Dark or something else. It will definitely be a white - not an off-white or pastel. I think this fabric will have enough colour and movement in it, that it needs a solid colour for the thread - and I'm not silly enough to do it in a silver metallic!

Hi Teegs,

Didn't think of that! Thanks for the offer! I should be rigth for a little while now. My credit card is more than whimpering in pain at the moment :)

But I will remember your offer for the future.

Was it the Crystal Monet? Well I certainly plan on stitching on mine - but the pattern wont take up the full size of the fabric, so I will have a bit left over to admire for its own sake :)

Oooh Gina - keep an eye on your postie this time next week - I finally got to the post office today!

Wow, the Monet is one popular colourway.....I might consider doing something white on mine, still not sure I want to though...or, maybe I could do some motifs in the corners and leave the huge centre open or display....hmmmm...that would keep Madam happy!!!

Melissa Hicks said...

Claire, How about some Assisi work?

Melissa Hicks said...

Jackie, Yes Ive seen a pic of this on the Picture This Plus site - it inspired me so that when *I* get to do this design, I will be using that fabric too!

For everyone else, go to: http://picturethisplus.com/html/photo_gallery_23.html

Great fabrics! I fell hard for a piece of Gothic Crystal at my LNS the last time I was there - but the budget wouldn't allow me to bring it home. I'm hoping it's still there when I go back next week!

I'm thinking about using a motif from Tracy's Sea Stars in white....they are all so delicate and pretty, I'm thinking one strand only would be delicate enough for my liking on that GAWJUS fabric.

Donna Williams said...

How about "Madam" maybe picking you up another piece of it next time she's out there? Maybe a smaller chunk so you won't have to think about cutting it up?

Melissa Hicks said...

Claire, I think Teegs has a better idea :)

Paula - hope its still there when you go back! Oh the luxury of being able to see hand dyed fabric in real life instead of on a computer monitor ... wistful sigh ... but then again without the Internet, I would still be stuck doing DMC kits on Aida :)

Michele - you are an evil evil woman! I want prints to hang on my wall of so many of those designs !!!!!!!

Mel, I shudder to think what would happen to me if I lived near Teegs and could actually go to PTP on any sort of regular basis!! My LNS generally gets orders from them within two weeks when they place special orders, so even if it's not there, I'll be ordering a piece! :)

Melissa Hicks said...

I've just joined the PTP list (and sent an intro even though I've not had *anyone* respond and welcome me ... sniff ...) and watching some of the closer ladies planning a trip to PTP is making me very jealous! My credit card on the other hand is breathing a huge sigh of relief !!!!!!

XXXX YYYY said...

YES PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Note the excited screeching!! I adore the fabric, just cannot bear the thought of cutting that drop dead gawjus piece about.

There's a list??? tell..............

Melissa Hicks said...

I think teegs might be on it ... look under yahoogroups for ptplus.

Melissa Hicks said...

Well *that's* certainly changed with you pair joining the list !!!

And Patty the Moonflower designer is on there too !!!! Oh I so need to buy more of her designs ...

Mel - off to bed now - will corner the credit card next week - I'm losing weight chasing the damn thing around the house at the moment .... and the bills have just come in for the month ... sigh ...
