Name the fabric ....

Bought some R&R Reproductions grab bags from Needle in a Haystack.

http://www.needlestack.com/inventory.html

Unfortunately most of these arrived without *any* identification.

Any suggestions as to which colours some of these may be? They are all 28 or 32ct R&R fabrics ....

Sorry, can't help you with names Mel, but they look yummy!!

Thanks Julie - its just that if a chart calls for example, Cafe mocha? then I have a clue about which fabric it is so I can decide for myself whether or not to use that one ....

Just would make life easier .... and I thought some people might like to help me with the puzzle of matching colours to actual R&R names ....

ROTFLMAO !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I almost fell out my chair with laughter!

There's a subversive cross stitch chart I'd stitch for you but you wouldn't be able to hang it where your kids could see it :) :)

thank you sooo much Tracy, you've fixed all my problems :) :) :) :)

Still chuckling and wiping my eyes!

Oh Tracy, that's hilarious! Sorry Mel, I've never bought any R & R. Cheers,

Ah, you can always rely on Tracy to know the answers:)

Me: I think your best option is to compare the chart cover pic to the fabric and just swatch away....if it looks like the right colour, it probably is the right colour. It's the duck thing again, quack.

BTW: Fabulous colours there. Do they fondle nicely or are some of them the usual stiff fabric?

Melissa Hicks said...

No stiffness - they are alll lovely and soft ...... only concern is that someof them are shiny so they might be a bit slippery like Mariann's RR fabric ... I'll find out when I use them I guess.

BTW the sale is still ongoing if anyone else wants some ......

The two purples in bags 2 and 5 look like eggplant. The green in bag 5 looks like JABCO green. The rose/pink in bag four looks like 18th Century Clove but that could also be the pink fabric in bag 1. If you go to www.shakespearespeddler.com/stitcheveryday.html you might be able to get a name for a few of the fabrics. On my monitor they look like a lot of the fabrics from the fabric of the month club.

Would love some but muggins spent more than she meant to this month already and it's nowhere neat the 24th when I'll get "paid":(

My "Flip Flop Days" was on an R&R fabric...they are lovely colours,

the lower right hand corner piece could be Pomegranate

Laura Landis said...

uh oh, maybe the lower right hand corner of this lot is the Pomegranate!

Laura Landis said...

I'd say JABCO green UL and maybe Beach Plum LR

Melissa Hicks said...

Thanks Laura and Melissa - I'll tentatively names these pieces :) Thanks !!!!!!

and thanks for the Shakespeare's Peddler's idea Melissa - I'll go and hunt that up after my overdue RR is shipped out ....

Claire EJ said...

I'd agree with the JABCO green. It looks just like the one my Flip Flop Days is on...

Well, as I've never seen any of these fabbies before, I am no help, but I have to say that I do love this group :)

What a great assortment!!

These are beautiful pieces, too bad they weren't named. I just bought 10 colors from Sugar Maple from Ebay and I double checked after I read this. Yep, they all have color names on the bags!!
