PMSL...I have one of his books and every time I go to start it, something else seems to come up.
Now I understand why LOL.

What a coincidence, WIRED magazine (my fav) did a profile of him last month and I thought it sounded great. I just picked up Quicksilver from the library last week. All 12 pounds of it (damn it is huge) - I'm not sure I am going to be able to finish it before it is due. It is great so far, so I will probably get into the game of creative renewing (request a copy from a branch library and check this one back in, repeat as necessary.) Wish I had more time to read, as I am enjoying it much.

That is one I haven't yet read - let me know what you think of it when/if you get through it :)

I had to go look it up instead of getting off my fat rear end to go find it..
Quicksilver.... Gods but it's a thick one.

I must admit to preferring his earlier stuff...

BTW, if you like his work, he also writes under the name Stephen Bury.

I might have to see what else is available through the library, or if you have a specific title to recommend Amazon is always my steadfast friend. I about croaked, too, to learn that the one I picked is first of a trilogy of equally weighty (both physically and figuratively) tomes.

The two absolute must-reads are "Snow Crash" and "The Diamond Age". I also really like "Zodiac"

I gotta agree! SnowCrash was my first and favourite and I've recently read Diamond Age and adored it.

Zodiac is easier reading .... also a fav.
