RAKs - my turn !!!!!

OK first I will fess up - it was me that sent the heap of Gloriana threads to Hilary for her Thriller chart.

Secondly - I was RAKed !!!! Yes I've just sorted through today's mail and I received a lovely gift from Maggee !!!!!

Maggee sent me a cute card and nearly a dozen different metallic threads! Mainly a heap of Kreinik blending filaments but also including a couple of DMC metallics!

Thank you Magee !!! These included a lot of colours that I need for upcoming projects - thank you soo much !!! And the card is very very cute!

Pics in my gifts album.

Great stuff, Mel and Maggee! If you get to your DMC metallics before I do, let me know how you like them; I am adding several to a dragonfly design I have kitted up, but it keeps getting shifted in the To Be Done pile, so I haven't used 'em yet.

I've had an order in with my LNS for a month to get a bunch of Kreiniks for those Dragon Dreams ornies I'm doing, and so far, nothing! I'm trying to support her, but it's not working both ways - I shoulda just ordered them from one of the many ONS having sales, like I usually do!

I've used Kreinik and I've used DMC metallics and I loathe them both! However I do love the effect they produce so I keep stitching with them and using them :) :)

I don't mind the Kreiniks, usually; if I'm grumpy already, then they tend to irritate me. I love the effect, so I guess I can overlook a lot of PITA. I haven't used the Rainbow Gallery ones yet, though I will eventually - that's one thing my LNS has, though considering her 1990's selection of charts, I'm a little curious as to why she has them. Her Kreiniks, only #8 braid - not even blending filament!?! She does carry the whole line of Dinky Dyes, silk and cotton, so I'll give her a little credit there.

You're such a sweetie - it doesn't surprise me to hear that you were both a RAKer and a RAKee. Enjoy the goodies.

Awww - you say the nicest things !!!!!!

Karen, Rainbow Gallery Petite Braids are the easiest and best metallics that I have worked with - and wherever possible I try to convert my metallics to try and use RG instead of Kreinik or DMC. But there are sometimes that is just not possible.

And I love the effect of metallic threads far far far too much to stop using them - so I'll just continue to whinge every stitch of the way until the item is finished :)

too fun, Mel, although I will admit that I really don't like metallics all that much! Love their effect, just hate having to adjust my stitching method to suit them! What a great RAK for you!!
