Sore Mel

Went to the dentist this afternoon. Because it had been so long since I made the appointment and because my previous dentists were apparently not very good - my tooth was worse than I thought and the decision was made then and there to pull it out immediately. Such a shock - I did go into shock and was shaking for a few minutes afterwards.

Two hours later and I feel very sore and sorry for myself. Mum is still here and making dinner for us both. What better time can you need your mum around ??? So glad she didn't go home this morning like she was originally planning to ....

So no phone calls or much activity for the next day or two ..... probably going to bed shortly after dinner ......

Yuck Mel, gentle hugs, hope you're to your usual self soon. What would we do without Mums?

Eeeeh! No like dentist. But it's just about the only doctor I will see on a regular basis and I'm lucky with mine...

Hope you're better now, Mel! SO ugly to have to let a tooth go! They pulled one of my molars when I was a kid - to make space (!!!) - but the gap will eventually close. Glad you had Denise still with you! Mums are really important. I miss mine almost every day of my life!

Ouch - loads of hugs for the poor GothTigger! Thank the Goddess that Denise was still there, I recommend bed and Trouble to snuggle up to.

Feel better! It's been 20 years since I had my wisdom teeth out, but I remember that pain distinctly - it is no fun!

Thanks everyone. Its now the next morning and a combination of aspirin and ibuprofen is keeping the pain down. Its just very very very tender and I have to be sooo careful. Also that side of my cheek is all bruised - will look great when I go back to work tomorrow .....

Just taking it easy again today. Mum is heading home after lunch when the rain clears. I am really really grateful that she was here last night ...

It was the shock that got to me, I thought that was going to be a minor filling and another part of my mouth was the major issue. Turns out this one needed to be removed immediately and the other issue is little. Apparently the $1400 gold cap recommended by the previous dentist is unnecessary as it is the tooth in front of the root canal that is the problem - not the rootcanaled tooth ..... sigh!

I think every time I have a nightmare now it will include the sound of the tooth grinding its way out of the socket {shudder} ......

Poor Mel! I'm glad you're feeling a bit better - and sorry I missed sending moral support your way!

That's OK Paula - I'll take your moral support now - I'm off back to the dentist this morning for an emergency appointment for a sore tooth on the other side of my mouth! Two sleepless nights now because of the pain ......

What's the story, it never rains ......
