Dilemma .....

Need help and suggestions .....

Natalie very very kindly gave me a gift certificate to ECC for Christmas.  I don't know what to buy !!!!!

Should I go for the Passione Ricamo:
Circe the Sorceress and specialty threads pack?
http://www.europeanxs.com/prromantic-/RL27.jpg

Should I go for a Long Dog selection:
Beautie Spotte or Sunne Spotte or St Senoch?
*and* Feast of Stephen or St Germain?
http://www.europeanxs.com/cgi-bin/general.pl?longdog-

Or should I go the Papillon Creations:
Midnight Garden with thread pack?
*or* Les Jardins d'amour and Lovers Knot?
http://www.europeanxs.com/cgi-bin/general.pl?papillon-

I CAN'T DECIDE !!!!!!

Mel
these are the choices I would consider, first to third. you may have a different order but these are the ones I think you would be happy stitching

1. Passione Ricamo
2. Beautie Spotte
3. Midnight Garden with thread pack

Beautie Spotte *and*

Feast of Stephen or St Germain?

Looks like Circe is waaaay in the lead :)

Buy ME threads for Mystery XI! LOL!

The strangest thing is that there are no Chatelaine's I want right now. I've go the available charts that I really really really want to do and I've kitted up the ones that are currently available to kit up ...

There must be something wrong with me - I definitely want some Chatelaine's I currently don't have - but I want to finish *one* of them first ...... before I buy any more ..... maybe I need a lie-down ....

Mel, you misunderstood. I said you can use your ECC gc to buy the thread kit for Mystery XI FOR ME!

Who me ??? Misunderstand? I wouldn't do that deliberately now would I?

Anyway I sent you a Christmas Present didn't I ???

Mean questions, Mel!!!

Personally I'm as little enamoured with Passione Ricamo as I'm with THAT person aka the Bitch.

My choice would definitely be Beautie Spotte or Sunne Spotte.

And really, seeing Les Jardins d'amour I thought, Geeeeeez, how UGLY screaming green - that's the kind of green we describe as "poisonous" green in German . Doing this on something less aggressive might actually come out nice, but the model is just horrid. HORRID! Yep, horrid.

Now let's see the comments and find out if I just really hurt anyone else's feelings <definitely evil grin here)

Ummm - which person? Sorry I'm lost - I don't understand who you are referring to here .......

Circe! She would look wonderful on my wall and we know you have a lovely new framer [evil grin]

I vote for the Long Dogs or the Papillions. Don't really like the faces on the PRs for some reason - just a personal thing I guess. My next vote would be to get them all and add them to your stash. (then don't forget to remove them from your lust list) Cheers

I like Circe, but she wouldn't be my first choice in a PR design. She just looks a little 'off'.
On the Papillon, I would go for Lovers Knot and Les Jardins d'Amour. Midnight garden is pretty, but I wouldn't get the thread pack for it. I think it would look better on navy or black, and I would want to pick threads for it myself.
On Long Dogs, I hate to say it, but I think Sonne Spot and Beautie Spot are 2 of the most horrid looking things I have seen, LOL. I do not at all like the caricaturized animals from the old tapestries, and I sure wouldn't want to reproduce them now. On the other hand St. Germain is on my lust list.

St Senoch because I love it to bits and is on my lust list for next year along with Do Bears. I like Sonne Spotte and Beautie Spotte but they really need the pailettes to do them justice and all that backstitch is a killer for me.

I am not a PR fan so Circe does not appeal but Midnight Garden does.

Not much help am I?

Melissa Hicks said...

I like Jardins but I would *never* do it in those colours - the same as I like St Germain but would never do it in *those* colours either !!!!

Melissa Hicks said...

{LOL} So when I do get and stitch these ones, I wont pass the charts onto you then Sisu ???? I gotta confess a love of old tapestries and all that goes with them.

Melissa Hicks said...

Thats the problem - *all* of my choices and options are on my Lust List :) :) :)

Oh but the Precious is for my birthdayssssssss

Melissa Hicks said...

And your birthday is *when* dearest Smeagel ????

Well, I would chose any of the Papillons, but I do have a soft spot in my heart for her designs, so I'm not really very impartial :)

early February. Plenty of time....

Me, I like Feast of St Stephen and I can see Les Jardins d'amour in another color combination. You have such a wonderful eye for color that I'd love to see what you chose for any of these! :)

I'm one of the few who would do "midnight garden". I don't care for the animal ones and I am working on a PR fairy and I don't care for their patterns or instructions, but the ladies are lovely!

kay jones said...

The Sorceress definitely. She looks exactly how you sound.

Melissa Hicks said...

Awww Kay - that's such a nice thing to say - completely untrue - but such a nice thing to say. Yes I am going to order Circe.
