LOL I don't think that is a good reason to come across Gothy :-)

Why not ????? I haven't had croissants for four years !!! They are a weekly craving for me !!!!!

Mel - planning on living on GF croissants during the stitch weekend in 2009.

Maybe we should try and find a self catering establishment then so we can indulge all our cravings :-)

I think it's a fabulous reason to move here....!

It would certainly bring you closer, but croissants any other way than the traditional way you get them here would be a no no for me. Are you allergic to gluten?

Mel, maybe we can both figure a way to afford to move to the UK. Share a flat or buy a house together? Someday, and soon I think, I'm going to start investigating what's truly involved in moving there permanently.

The more of you there, the more reason I have to come visit!

I've heard of people moving for stranger reasons. I like croissants too.

I wish you all loved here...somewhere near us...we could have a stitching commune with cats and land and live well.

Yep Marion - I'm gluten intolerant (and probably a full Coeliac as mum is and the damn thing's genetic). Either way I can't eat food with gluten in them or I get sick. Haven't eaten bread in years - just can't stomach GF bread - it has the consistency of a slice of cake. Ever tired to make a ham and salad sandwich between two slice of cake ????

I miss donuts, Turkish bread and croissants!

Teegs that sounds like a damn fine idea :) :)

In a previous lifetime (i.e. before September 2001 when my marriage rudely ended) I was working my way through a Bachelor of Science in Cultural Conservation. The plan was to finish the degree, then travel Europe for six months slinging my resume in wherever or whenever I could, and if I found a job, then I would stay there. Very naive, but that was the plan.

I'm still thinking I should still try something like that .....

Ooooh sounds fantastic !!!! And then I could indulge my other whims and hobbies too :) :)

Hang on you were saying that we wouldn't be having to go to work for a living weren't you ???

I mean I can grow vegetables ..... and make soap and ... stuff ......

An interesting plan.....Not that naive considering the number of Aussies who make a success at living over here!

I did mean "lived here"...slip of the finger LOL.

Well, we would have won the lottery in a huge way so that we could buy a big piece of land with a huge tudor style house with at least three wings and a couple of turrets also.
Veggies, soap, self sufficiency, sheep, and goats etc...
Oh what fun!!!
Teegs and I could breed cats....dunno what, but oh...what a way to live.
I love a good daydream.

Since I have a small bit of income besides the truck stop, I could work part time just about anywhere. I keep thinking that maybe I could stick my nose back into the Marriott Corp and see what's involved in transferring to a London area Marriott property. It's a thought.... one I may actively research this summer.

I would so love to have my best friend and sister live here!!
Donna, you should do it....there's a bed here anytime as you already know.

I know my aunt would give several body parts for a good GF croissant, too! And if you moved, Mel, you'd be closer and it would be more likely that I'd get to visit... but then there goes one of my excuses for "needing" to go to Australia!

Melissa Hicks said...

Well It wouldn't be happening for a while Paula - unless I won Lotto last Saturday night (hmmm haven't checked my ticket yet) so you still have a few years to come visit here .....

And we'll definitely be together in 2009 for the stitching fest right ????

If there is any way for me to humanly manage it, yes, 2009 is definite!!
