I'm trying to gather the energy to grid this out. I have visions of doing a border design too .... more as I gather the energy to count and grid up my mad schemes.
How are you doing today Claire? I got the mad schemes and plans mapped out mathematically. Now just to grid it out on the fabric with basting stitches - start the border and stitch the dragon. I've got three nights ...
Three weeks night after-work where I haven't done any stitching all year ....
I know I thrive on pressure but sometimes I sabotage myself too much ....
Hi there I've discovered your blog, i've been enjoying looking at your pics. I am currently doing the gemstone dragons. I am doing them separately and am thinking of making them into a quilt when I am done. I notice with the Onyx dragon you have 2008 on it. Was there an option for different numbers in the gemstone dragon leaflets or did you chart the 8 yourself? I saved these when they were freebies so the onyx chart I have has 2001 on it.
I missed these when they were freebies so I've bought the chart :) And yes Jennifer included a whole number sequence with instructions on how to personalise for each year.
So, pardon my obtuseness, but *which* Mel are you? Which groups are we on together?
Absolutely - if the November one is still open, I'd love to do that one - or any, actually! When I collected these, I had thought to do one for each of us as a grouping - juts haven't gotten to it though, obviously.
Also have the entire set of Virtues - that's what the Little Kid went through to pick the one he works on when no one is home to pick on him...
So glad you like it, Mel! Since it's my birthday gem, I just stitched it as charted.
A note to those of you with plans to stitch all of these. You could definitely go broke buying all of the sparklies for them but they're gorgeous when you see them up close.
Aren't these gorgeous !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Laura, Sisu, Lyne, Mariann and Claire have all created such wonderful pieces !!!!!
And the draggies have now been through the 6-person RR there are three draggies still to go.
The project is now on its way to Denise who has been wanting to do one since she first helped me pick out this project and supplied the fabric for it :)
Dragon two is for Karen who has been asking since this project was first announced!

Help please ladies - I'm paralysed!
What layout do you suggest for the dragons?
I need some advice before I start the black onyx?
Option 5 gets my vote (and what happened to options 7 and 8?)
I vote for Option 5, or if not so many then option 1
5 is nifty or 3...prefer 5 though.
Can you see any of these layouts Mariann - or should I describe them in words?
Sisu, Lyne - do you have any comments or preferences before I begin stitching ????
[[tongue very much in cheek]]
Who cares what they think? Go with my choice as it's always the right one.
[ducking and running/waddling off]
I hear and obey oh Mistress Harmony !!!!
Your humble obedient servant ......
That's more like it LOL.
Number five has a really neat layout. it draws the eye around so much more to the individual sections than the others:)
