What's a girl to do ....

When a girl has a broken heart and is back to single status - what else is she to do, except go shopping for a couple of plush toys to hug.

Meet Bookworm and Ebola.  Both courtesy of Giant Microbes.  Saw these at the Uni Book store and had to bring a couple home.

Will go looking for Syphilis and Mad Cow Disease next time ....

What happened my dear?

And people think I'm twisted! This is just what I need, some Ebola laying about the office!!!! Mad cow I may already have, according the Red Cross, thus making me exempt from giving blood. As to the broken heart, I hope you don't mean you...

These are too funny. We have them at a little shop here too, along with a series of plushies called "parasite pals". I got the kids head lice and bedbugs for their Christmas stockings. Microbes aside, are we reading here that you and P. have split up? {{{{MEL!}}}} Big hugs, friend.

Yep Paul and I have split up. You could see it coming as we were drifting apart in our lifestyles and interests but it still hurts. What I need right now more than anything is a huge hug - but seeing as that isn't going to happen, I thought some twisted plushies might make people smile.

Hey they cheered me up for a little while ..... and I missed my bookworm and had to replace him anyway.

We had one as the "mascot" of the Technical Services section in my last job. That section was full of twisted people like me - that's where my friend Alison worked too .... before we both left that organisation.

The company is called Giant Microbes and I have a link to their website in my original post. I'm not sure about Lyme disease but I *do* know they have Chicken Pox !!!!

What about one called "STD"?

Aww Mel, even when you see it happening, it doesn't feel good. Consider yourself cyber-hugged; I just can't manage to be close enough for the real thing.

Seriously, those plush guys are great... they appeal to my oh too twisted sense of humor!

Melissa Hicks said...

No "std" but they do have Syphilis, Chlamydia, Gonorrhoea etc. See http://www.giantmicrobes.com/

Sorry to hear about your breakup, but the little stuffed animals names are just TOO cute!

Claire, yes they do have Lyme Disease on the Giant Microbes site!

Mel, so sorry to hear that. Sending more cyberhugs your way. And I love your new friends - the plushy ones that is, don't want the real ones, especially the ebola!

Sorry about the break-up Mel. You guys were very different but seemed comfy with each other. On the other hand, love the microbes. That just appeals to the weird side of me.

Love the toys Mel! Sorry to hear about the break-up. These things are never easy - big huge 'hugs' over to you from snowy Canada.

I gave my family microbes for Christmas two years ago. My mom got Strep, my sister the common cold and my dad a beer yeast. We own a bookworm at our house.

Sorry to hear about the break-up. (((Hug)))

It really is true that you can find anything on the internet - who knew you could buy The Black Death online????

Claire EJ said...

Best way to get the Black Death or any of the others on there...
Having had Lyme, I would like a Lyme microbe..it's a cute idea.

Hilary Syddall said...

That is why I gave Mark Mono - I hope it is the only way he ever gets it!

Eh? You're talking gibberish woman !!! I don't speak gibberish you'll have to translate that into English for me :) :)

I'm doing better today - I spent most of last night cleaning out my kitchen - very therapeutic. After having Paul visit every weekend and then Dad moving everything at Christmas, it felt like I was reclaiming *my space* again.

Eg I put away all appliances *I* don't use and rearranged the cupboards so I could easily access things *I* want to use etc...

There's probably something psychological in that :) :)

Either that or my elevated mood may be due to sleep deprivation. It was a really hot night here late night - so everybody had their windows and doors open and my lovely next door neighbour couldn't sleep so he played songs on his guitar until around 4am. Old tacky country songs. Badly. Missed chords, kept going over bits.

Loudly. singing along. Out of key .....

Hope he has a migraine today from all the bad thoughts directed his way.

However that morphed into a dream which actually gave me something positive to think about and plan. More news as the plan is examined in the light of day.

Sorry for the rambling - I really am very very tired.

Mel sweets, I know you missed some sleep with the heat but.....those would be microbe toys....nasty little germs that we have over here.

Waiting to hear what the plan is.....
