Monday Morning

It is the last day of March ....

4:30am     The alarm wakes me at its customary time
5:50am     I am on the platform awaiting my train
6:56am     We pass my friend's train stop.
Pre-dawn lavenders and purples flow over the buildings
7:17am     I see my first glimpse of the sun
7:21am     The train pulls in and I walk down to the bus stop
7:34 am    I feel the first brief warmth of the suns rays on my skin.
7:48am     I am at my desk.

It looks like it will be a warm clear day - but for now I have had less than 2 minutes warmth of the sun on my skin.

Too many shadows and valleys in the city.

Daylight Savings in in force for another week yet.

Next year it is rumoured to be extended into May .....

You need to either move closer to the job so you can spend some time in a park getting sun, or get a new job.

Can you get out somewhere during lunch to get some sun?

Not today - was in training all day - going home now though :)

What Claire said... have you already started looking for flats?

I have scouted things out and realised there it *is* a viable option. I'm now starting from tomorrow to look at specific properties and locations.

Certainly time to reassess. You need to get some fresh air for more than a couple of minutes a day. Good luck with the property search. I had a nice flat on Coogee beach when I was there. Overlooking the beach etc. with a pop star's brother living next door.!

Although Perth does have some attractions right now .....

Mel we have just ended our daylight savings over here in the west. I just hate that it is so long. We go from light to dark in one foul swoop. Over here it is too hot in the afternoons to go and do anything with the daylight hours in the evening. We could do daylight savings for shorter time spans.

Personally if I were the Evil Overlord - I'd ban daylight savings forever !!!!

Yes, please :)

kay jones said...

I'll second that

Perhaps we need to start a revolutionary group to get rid of it.

Sounds good to me !!!!

I looked it up - as from October this year Daylight Savings in NSW and Victoria will go:

From First week in October (3 weeks earlier than the rest of the world)
To First Week in April (1 week later than the rest of the world)

Why? Just Why ????

At least WA is two years through a three-year trial which will be followed by a referendum whether to adopt Daylight Savings .....

another reason to move to Perth !!!!!

Perth?? Perth? Thought Melbourne was next.....

Havent been around as Kate and Jon came down for a few days and we've been so busy I haven't had time for computers or stitching.

Very much so, but as it was a weird week, I didn't get a chance to call you to see if you were ok. Glad to know you were off having family fun.
