VERY interesting article. The researcher talks about the "oldest part of the brain", which must be the limbic system. In this part of our brain our most innate instincts are placed: breathing, sleeping, eating, drinking, mating.
I think that biologically all humans search for the gain of pleasure in their lives. We do nothing but constantly look for anything that pleases us, be it our physical pleasure or our mental one. We're junkies for satisfaction. It's very interesting to have that proven by the chemistry in our brains :-)
I think I would probably rather be the laser pointer...

Ooops! but an interesting article (and yes it is fun to tease a cat with a laser pointer!)
Well, some days I'm the cat, and other days, I'm the laser pointer :)
Today I feel like the laser pointer - what with pointing out lovely new sites :)
I think I am the cat!!!
