Blue on Black - or why BoINk is ruing my eyesight and my sanity ....

Well it is definitely dark here now - but I got the blue on black finished . The rest of the colours should go easily now and I should be caught up by this time next weekend ....

Here is a pic without the flash - this is what I was trying to stitch under artificial light ....

And this lower pic was taken with the flash - this is closer to what the project looks like when being stitched in natural sunlight.

You can see the hassles I was having - I'm hoping the addition of the other colours will make this all stand out better.  Hope to have a finished pic of this part up by this time next weekend.

Nah - just stubbornness - I love that shade of blue and I was *not* going to swap it out for another one ....

It looks wonderful, so all the trouble is worth it..that's a good thing!! I'm glad you are still plugging along, I can't wait to see your next update already! :)

This looks fabulous Mel! I can understand how difficult this is to stitch without a great deal of sunlight. I have held off from my "on black" pieces until I can get an OTT lite.

Oh Mel - I'd be going crazy too, but it looks great!!

Well, it might be driving you over the edge, but it does look amazing!!!! And that blue pops more than the gold in the flash pic - I wasn't expecting that :)

Wow, Mel - this will be stunning. Lovely work, and obvious why you need lots of light on this one.

Oh it looks great, especially when you zoom in on it!! Sorry it's so hard on the eyes, but it should be worth it in the end!

Thanks everyone - that's exactly it - it is really hard to work on - but oh so worth it ......

Looks good, Mel! I understand your hassle, on Safari Sunset I'm working with the dark brown colours on black - no joy!

It looks absolutely fantastic but I could not do this on black. I have the old eyes thing and they refuse to work n anything darker than navy

Looks great Mel. If I ever get my current travel project done, BoInk is going to take it's place.

Don't you have an Ott light?

Melissa Hicks said...

I have a stitching lamp - but its not helping all that much .....

You need to sit on Santa's lap and ask for an Ott light.

Melissa Hicks said...

Usually when I sit on Santa's lap I end up with lingerie for Christmas ....

I'm supposed to be offline and off stitching for a week while my eye heals .... so I will be quiet - but I couldn't resist this one ....

Santa is a bloke after all. All he can think of is sex! Try giving taking him shopping and shove a nice new Ott into his sticky mitts. That said I bought my own and love it to bits.

It does look like it's been a struggle but it absolutely beautiful! Have you tried one of those lights that you use under the fabric? or a white pillow case in your lap?

I usually have a multicoloured cat in my lap .....
