Mel's Sunday update

Hi all, Sunday evening here - worked all weekend seeing as I had a migraine earlier this week. It was a good weekend to work considering the changes going on right now with data migration of the library software. Not to mention the welcome financial relief of the overtime money :)

Anyway I worked on Midi Mystery in the last few days and finished section 4. I had started this and done most of the cross stitching, but I still had all of the backstitch, specialty stitches and beads to attach - so still quite a bit of work.

Nate - you got this one finished ion time didn't you back at Christmas 2005?

Anyway when it was finished, instead of going onto part 5, I decided to make a bit of a change and spend a couple of days working on my ELTWIP Catherine of Aragon. No pics of Catherine, but she has a face now.

Back to Cirque des Cercles tomorrow - after we see whether the data conversion this weekend worked and whether we have a viable working database tomorrow at work :)

Thanks - I really didn't think I would get this finished this week - but slow and steady plodding reaps results :) God its hot - we're still over 35 degrees here - how about you - and what about the cricket - the Aussies are falling apart!

Mel, it's looking lovely!

It's too warm here, too! Some places here had close to 20° yesterday and the day before yesterday. You should see my tulips and irises pushing up. There are tons of daisies and we have crocus blooming!

Hilary - I looked at her again today and there's just nit enough left of her to do ... at this stage Rosebuds will be coming to the UK. Maybe one of Catherine's fellow wives next year .....

Of course I *could* send Mystery IX .........

Claire EJ said...

Hah....how did I not stipulate when we started this that Chatelaines are not to be sent LOL....too heavy on postage

And oh, those little roses! I had forgot about those! I just love those in the trellis. And when you put on the beads...*sigh* this one is so pretty when finished!

Rosebuds would be good :-) now the question is - do I do another Peanuts character before I send it to Claire?

Claire EJ said...

Entirely up to you.....depends on health really I would think!

Melissa Hicks said...

Nah - you have the right number of characters for the stitcher's - I'd leave it as is and concentrate on your own obligation between now and March .....

Congratulations on the progress, Mel! Hey, I could send my Mystery IX as well. Wouldn't that be fun, two of the same project in the same round??? BWA HAH HAH!!

Melissa Hicks said...

Oh phooey !!!!

Well I also have a wool tapestry that is printed on the canvas that I'm dreading continuing on - anyone want to work on that? Its a gorgeous medieval theme ....... just not my preferred style of embroidery ....

Melissa Hicks said...

{LOL} and then Claire could send Taj :) :) We could do a Chatelaine UFO RR?

So how far along Mystery IX are you ???

Claire EJ said...

Ok...stop right there...do you kids have any clue just how heavy Chatelaines are?? those kits would eat up the postage and I just can't do it.

Claire EJ said...

eep! Starts scratching at just the thought of all that itchy stuff.....

You guys are making me chuckle to be sure :). But great job on the progress, Mel!

Melissa Hicks said...

Hey if someone could get me past the slump in Mystery IX I would pay the postage both ways ... I gotta stop dragging my feet on this one !!!!

After Fire Flower, wanna add Mystery IX back in and we'll do another SAL? I've got to get moving, too.. and maybe we can suck Meg from BAPXS into that also!

Melissa Hicks said...

Hmmm now there's a thought Paula !!!! the SALs have been really great for my motivation levels so it just might do the trick here !!!! I don;t think Nate got hers finished either ....
