Mel's Sunday update

Good morning all,

We as you know it was Cirque's turn in my rotation - however seeing as catherine was sooo close to being finished I was naughty and spent the first couple of night finishing her off.

So Catherine is now finished, washed iron and ready for framing. I also took the time while I had the ironing board out and I washed ironed and readied for framing Valour (a blackwork piece) I had finished last year. So I have a few pieces waiting on framing money now :)

I finally got back to Cirque and got a few stitches into her. It was a hell week at work so once again (as it becoming usual this year) most of the stitching was done in the latter part of the week (Thursday and Friday nights). But every stitch helps.

Pics of Catherine and Valour in my finished album. Pic of Catherine also in her own album. Pic of Cirque in its own album.

Ready to start Fire Flower tomorrow - as long as the chart arrives in the mail! Tracy shipped it 10 days ago, so it should be here soon .....

I'm off to work again for the afternoon ......

Catherine came out so beautiful, and I can't wait to see more CdC!

FF will start this evening if the pattern is in today's mail .... I'll txt you Claire, so you don't miss out :) :)

Thanks all for your great comments and Tracy, I can't wait to see more CdC either - It must have a slow down spell on it or something - I can never seem to get as much progress done on it as I want to.

LOL at the moment I think ALL my stitching has a slow down spell - if anyone finds the antidote (or the spell that speeds up stitching!) could they let me know ASAP please :-)

Melissa Hicks said...

I think the antidote is chocolate! We need more chocolate!

My Fire Flower chart arrived in the mail box this morning. And so it would not get lonely in its satchel, Tracy very kindly included some free DMC threads and a block of chocolate! I am *certain* that its the antidote to the slowed-down stitching.

I'll try the chocolate with Fire Flower after work tonight and let you know. Its organic dark chocolate with raspberries {drool}

THANK YOU TRACY !!!!! {big smooches} You are a wonderful friend!

Very kind of Tracy and I hope you enjoy it and it boosts your stitching level accordingly! LOL

Wow - that chocolate sounds amazing! And I'm glad FF arrived. Catherine is beautiful now that she has her whole head - congrats on the finish! And good progress on Cirque, too. I still haven't decided what I'm going to do that one in!

Hope you didn't get chocolate drool over FireFlower.....Organic with Raspberries sounds fabulous!. Sllluurrrp.

I'm getting quite spoiled with all of these chocolates from all over the world !!!!

I am a veteran chocolate lover and stitcher - I never get chocolate stains on my stitching !!! (Having made such a definite statement, I am now going to stain my stitching tonight - I can just see it!)

As can be seen by my progress (next blog post) - the chocolate definitely helped - I certainly recommend it as an antidote for "slowed down stitching".

Just so long as you're not so hyped up by it that the *you know what* visits you ...ribbit.

Actually, the scary thing is that the pattern for FF is intuitive - once I get a mental picture of how the pattern goes, I have not needed to refer back to it.

This put Miss Trubby's nose out of joint last night as she sat on the pattern for a good hour before the phone rang and I moved .... she sits on the pattern as a way of getting attention and it didn't work ....

So far no sgorF *fingers crossed*

ooooh poor puss cat LOL she is going to be miffed at you for a while longer I would reckon!

I found the same thing... I'm definitely loving working on FF!

Oh no - I and the kitchen were *far* too entertaining last night - and she happily curled up in bed with me as soon as I'd taken my second shower for the evening .....
