Well it was a very very slow stitch week for me. Went back to work full
time after three weeks off and the depression grabbed hold as I turned
into the parking lot Monday morning. Managed to shake it but was
tired and disheartened all week - so most of this week's stitching was
accomplished yesterday afternoon :)
For the first time ever I'm actually daunted by the size of this
project, so I've decided to go back to the very beginning and work on
each page in sequence. So I went back to Page A and completely filled
in the border and all hanging parts of the motifs from the page below it,
and then the same to Page B etc .... so I did lots of little clean up
bits rather than one whole chunk. I should get a good chunk done on it
next month.
I've also took a few hours this afternoon and updated all of the pics in the Dutch Beauty album so that the pics reflect each page of the design as well as one whole big picture update. I'll just update the appropriate pictures each month.
Oh I did however do the whole spinning monkey motif for Tracy :)

I think it is really looking good Mel :) And cute spinning monkey lol!
Well done Mel (sorry about the depression over work though), at least this way stitching wise you know how much of this piece is completed!
Cute bunny, interesting monkey! Dammit, I said the "M" word.
Its OK - I might be working in a library - but not at the Unseen University .... unfortunately {sigh}
Thanks for all your encouragement ladies :) I admit I didn't feel much accomplishment this week what with all the little bits ... but yes I have whole pages I can cross of my to do list now :)
It's looking good Mel, At least when you finished off A & B pages you get the satisfaction of having completed these pieces.
Thanks mum - my "aim" for the next time is C and possibly D !!! I was hoping I could get a whole page done per month - but I don't think that's going to happen somehow !
Umm make that C, D and possibly E. I'm going nuts :)
".........................." insert own thoughts into blank gap for above comment!
hehhehehe
It may not have felt like many stitches, but how many other people can say that they completed two pages of this project in a weekend? Hmmm? lol It's looking great!
Well, I am living vicariously through you on this project, because I love this design, so if it makes you feel better, I'm having a good time! And I know how hard it was for me to go back to work, though I only had 5 days off, so not long enough to get really settled into not going! I've never had 3 weeks off (except maternity leave, which DOES NOT count). Is the monkey really spinning, or pulling down a draft? (yeah, wrong color for beer, but that's what it looks like to me, all the same :)LOL)
Tee hee hee! I hadn't seen it that way before - you he's pulling a beer on St Patrick's Day !!!
Glad you like it Karen, I'll be very very happy when I get this one finished !!! I've always loved it so much and I really do want it done and on the wall. However I also am enjoying stitching it too - and wishing I had more time to stitch last week. Mind you, I didn't start on the Chatelaine last night - too busy preparing documents for a work meeting today. I might have to change my rotation to every fortnight, I seem to spend the first couple of days finding my rhythm on each piece and doing the bulk of the stitching on the Friday and weekend. Or maybe that's just cause of my work situation. I dunno. Its pre-caffeine time here and I'm blathering.
Own thoughts? Own thoughts? Its 6:30am - what thoughts am I supposed to dredge up out of this befuddled bit of grey matter ???? :)
It was something to do with you "going nuts" ...I was trying the polite way to insinuate you already are nuts ....
{LOL} You ladies are sooo supportive !!!!! Thank you !!!!
Ah yes but we know that already :) :) Sorry I'm a little wired this morning - monthlies and this work meeting this afternoon. More chocolate will calm me down .....
Oh, Mel, doesn't work just stink? I had to go back to work after taking off for six months. It was truly terrible!! Anyway, love the little bunny, but then, I like most bunnies!
Thanks Laura - yup the bunny is sooo cute!
