I'm 12 again ......

After getting my flu vac jab this morning the doctor gave me a lollipop.

These flu vaccinations were arranged through work and all took place this morning.  Every second person walking up to my desk is sucking on a lollipop.

I just left a manager's meeting where all participants were older than me and they were all licking lollipops.

I prairie dog over the top of my cubicle and see over half the staff with lollipops in their mouths ...

Very very surreal ......

Cue Twilight Zone theme.... That's pretty funny, actually :)

That is really funny, lol. Maybe they're used to giving flu shots in schools?

I like the imagery of that, LOL!

Here they wouldn't do these vaccinations on such a great scale. But every year they do remind people to take the shot and especially the older part of the population. I will take it this fall, too!

How cool to get a treat after a nasty jab!
I stopped having the flu jab a couple of years back. As an asthmatic, I get it free but, it always seems to react badly with me [quel surprise] so not much point having the thing.

I have very little faith in the flu shot. It has made more people sick than it has helped from what I have seen. But the hoard of grown-ups all with suckers would have been a weird sight, LOL.

Did it make you want to break out a book and hold story time? {g}

I don't get the flu shot even though the recommend it for emergency workers. I had one two years ago on post-Katrina duty and I had a reaction to it. I didn't get the flu, but had some issues that were from the shot.

I never get a treat when I have mine! Like Claire, I react badly to it and wonder every year why I bother. Then I remember an emergency trip to the hospital with flu and being asthmatic, I was a pretty shade of blue. That just makes me reason that it is worth it, but it is a pretty close run thing.

You can't beat sucking en masse Tig... lol

Thanks Vamps I knew you would come through for me :) :)

The flu shot is not really big news and I wouldn't have bothered mentioning it - but the sight of all of the staff and managers alike sucking on proper little lollipops gave me such a fit of the giggles that I had to share :) :)

We also had a fire alarm go off and had to evacuate the building a couple of hours after that - unfortunately everybody had finished their lollipops by then. Could you imagine the looks on the poor students faces as the alarm goes off and all the staff and managers come out sucking on lollipops .....

Least they were lollipops and nothing else being sucked on.

Considering all the fire exits are at the back of the building and yet the meeting area for evacuees is at the front of the building - I wonder how many students would think there was Rave being busted in the back of the building ....
