The Good News ...

Daylight Savings is finaly finally over !!! Yay !!!!!!!!

The Bad News:

I have no hot water ..... not sure if its the off peak that's broken or the thermostat on the actual heater.  So not sure if I need to call a puilber or an electrician.

All I know is, its Sunday morning and I'm not going to be able to call anyone until sometime tomorrow .... so going into work on Monday after two days of cold showers .... ooooh  yuck!

Wouldn't you need to call the landlady? Or is she in charge of outdoor stuff only?
Anyway, not sure who you would call. I would assume a plumber. Even if it is the thermostat, they should know how to replace one. I replaced one on mine, it isn't too hard.

Good luck getting it fixed. And take heart, after all, it could have happened in mid winter and you'd be taking very cold showers!!

Ouch

Hope you can get that fixed subito!

I contacted the landlady yesterday (a few hours before she was due to fly out for an overseas trip!). She got the original plumber out as the thing is still under warranty.

It needed a new thermostat and he replaced it then and there. Then he said that thermostats and heating elements were not covered under the warranty. I tip-toed away at that point.

As I have an off-peak heating service I had to wait until this morning's shower to check that it worked - and it did! I had a blissfully hot shower this morning.

YEA! Happy to hear it got fixed and you got your hot shower. I know how awful that can be!!

Glad that that worked out. Silly question, tho - if the thermostat and heating elements aren't covered, what's the point of the warranty? LOL In any case, we have the same sort of service for running our water heater... and the last time we had a problem, it was horrible holding my breath until I could see if the water was actually hot!

Yup - held my breath yesterday morning too :) :) :) Decided if the it still wasn't hot I wasn't going to work - it was hot :-/

Yeah I wondered the same thing about the warranty but that's when I tip toed away and let the landlady screech at the plumber all by herself .......

LOL I think that letting her screech was a better idea, too.
