Superego: {gibber gibber gibber} Id: Squeee !!!!! Supergo: Shaddup shaddup Shaddup! You got us into this !!!! Id: Hey you were the one who drank half a bottle wine and chatted with Alison while watch Eurovision last night. Superego: Me ???? The wine was *your* idea! Id: And then you stayed awake all night. That gives me control of the mouth at 5am. It says so in the contract! In those circumstances I get control of the mouth. Superego: Alright shutup already !!!!! Id: Anyway - you like the idea I know you do !!! Superego: {Gibber gibber gibber}
So I won't spoil the suprise and tell you who won then????? I'm with Mariann, I won't watch it because it has become a political contest and no longer about music.
We have to get together in person and discuss some practicality issues first. Then discide if we really want to do this, and if so, what does that entail and then figure out how to actually do it.
Oh and he'll need to supply a ring :) :) :)
Date setting is a way down the track. We've both been married before so we're making sure we're both happy and comfortable every step of the way this time .... it will take a bit of time I think ....
OK I have all my work clothing food etc. organised for the week and I've typed up a Monday Mischief to go out in the morning. I've had two hours sleep in the last 40 hours. So I'm off to bed to hopefully to get a really good night's sleep :) :)
It all still feels surreal!
Trubs is already asleep - curled up on top of BoInk of course .....
I think I'm reassured now - it was a good conversation we've had, Mel, and I'm tending to squee-ing right along with you! SO good to know you are happy!
LOL, can't you both be happiest!?! I'm so glad he popped the question for you Mel. Congrats to you both, and I hope the wedding plans move along as smoothly as can be.
Understood - but methinks that there are some very good reasons that it's even a "tentative yes". But hey - positive vibes headed your way couldn't hurt, right? {grin}
I second Claire's post! I think it is awesome that Stephen has braved our online family here! It is just another really cool way for you two to communicate - just with a supportive audience for either of you - if needed for love, hugs, opinions or whatever we can do to help!
Yes Mel - we are willing to fly in for the wedding as soon as Stephen finds a date that doesn't scare you silly. And we're going to talk Claire into being your bridesmaid too.
How about a nice August wedding, in the UK? Like in 2009? I got married there once... they called me a spinster. I was 20 :( They shoulda called me stupid.
Not a bad idea at all in my way of thinking, Karen! Have it all in one and postpone the honeymoon on your next vacation together, because I'm an egotistical bitch who still wants you around for that whole month :-)
But an added wedding... would be lovely.
Can't believe they called you a spinster, Karen. How awful? People shouldn't start getting married before 25 to 30 at least, so they can make their stupid mistakes without the added horror of marriages gone wrong.
Mel, if you would hold on until 2010 I suppose that can be done :-)
Woooo Hooooo! Congratulations Mel! I know you two have a lot of details to figure out, but that's just details - the hard part is over!! Finding the right one to spend your life with, after that everything else will be cake. = D Really *wonderful* news!
OH, sheesh, I was getting worried because of Claire's comment up above about the 'anti-squee' - everything is still fine, right? And ditch the cake - how about chocolate covered strawberries and a splif of champagne instead?
well I could make a rather rude comment about preferring to being eaten - but I think that comes more in the conversation regarding the honeymoon and probably shouldn't be for public "consumption".....
The idea of chocolate covered strawberries sounds good though - how many Chocolatiers are in Perth honey?

What is SQUEEE????
So, ummmm, why are you sleep deprived???
Squee - is a highpitch squeal of delight.
The squee and the sleep dep are related.

This says it all!!!!!!!!!!! Happy Gibbering!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks mum !!!!!
I believe I've had that very same conversation, only probably beer or vodka induced (wine gives me an instant headache)...
I know why she's squeeing.....I squeed, we squeed, we all squeed....Steve included..[but much quieter LOL].
Considering the night, sleep deprivation is sooooo worth it:) :) :)
Squee!!!!!!!!
Oh please, please, please... Stop with the teasing. I want to know!
So - NEVER having watched it in the probably past 20 years - who won?
I don't think I'd miss sleep for something like the Eurovision. It's gone SOOOOO down the drain, LOL
Don't know - just watching the qualifying rounds. The finals are on tonight.
So I won't spoil the suprise and tell you who won then????? I'm with Mariann, I won't watch it because it has become a political contest and no longer about music.
My squee was not about Eurovision.
It was something much more personal.
I know that!!!! I'm just about to text Claire to get the lowdown and then I'll squeeeee alongside you if its what I think it is!
Tell me what you think it is ???
Would this have to be to do with being all loved up?????
Yup.
Stephen proposed last night.
When's the big day then Tig?
Whoo-hoo! I wondered if I might be something like that. SQUEEEE-ing with you!
Hey woah woah woah !!!! Not going *that* fast !!!
We have to get together in person and discuss some practicality issues first. Then discide if we really want to do this, and if so, what does that entail and then figure out how to actually do it.

Either that or he will surprise me again.
Thanks Kerry !!!!!!!
Wishing you all kinds of happy - loving and being loved is a good, good thing. Enjoy every step of this process because it all goes WAY too fast. :-)

AS I've just said to Claire, I am absolutely thrilled for you. I'm squeaking and bouncing too!
I think I'm reassured now - it was a good conversation we've had, Mel, and I'm tending to squee-ing right along with you! SO good to know you are happy!
Squeeeing along with you Mel! Great news!
SSSSQQQQQUUUUUEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!! Well, isn't that some news to wake up to!?!?!?!?!?!? Congratulations!!!
Fantastic news, Mel!!!! Hoping things will fall into place quickly, and this will work out beautifully for you both!
Congratulations Mel, that's great news.
Oh Mel - that is wonderful news!!!!
Thanks everyone - chatted with Stephen this morning - trying to work out who was the happiest - him or me :) :)
LOL, can't you both be happiest!?! I'm so glad he popped the question for you Mel. Congrats to you both, and I hope the wedding plans move along as smoothly as can be.
Congratulations Mel!!!!!!!!!!!! What wonderful news!!! Wishing you a very happy future together!!!!
Don't get too excited here people - its a tentative yes based on further conversations.
Still worthy of a squee :) :)
Understood - but methinks that there are some very good reasons that it's even a "tentative yes". But hey - positive vibes headed your way couldn't hurt, right? {grin}
Never turn down positive vibes !!!!!
He's been remarkably good at that so far. Just ask the neighbours. :-)
Not even *I* am willing to touch that line... :-)
Shush you !!!! Shouldn't you be working or selecting a ring or getting on a plane or something ???
You know something other than making me blush on my own blog!
Ring is in progress already. All I need is the size and your will be done :-)
That's going to be fun :-) Mel blushing all over the place!
ARRRGHHHH!!!!!
This is all a really bad dream !!!! I'm going to wake up sometime really really soon !!!!
This is not fair {wail} You're not supposed to join in !!!!
Woo Hoo !!! I *am* God !!!!
Finally - someone who sees the truth !!!!
Nope, this is not a bad dream..it's the ultimate daydream come true...sniffs..
Just enjoy Gothy!! We are just all so glad that you are so happy!!

Oh and I haven't even said CONGRATS yet either!
Chele
Hmm - how about you lot *all* say:
Yes Mel - we are willing to fly in for the wedding as soon as Stephen finds a date that doesn't scare you silly. And we're going to talk Claire into being your bridesmaid too.

How about a nice August wedding, in the UK? Like in 2009? I got married there once... they called me a spinster. I was 20 :( They shoulda called me stupid.
Karen - everyone is allowed at least one stupid mistake !!!! I've made more than one :)
Not a bad idea at all in my way of thinking, Karen! Have it all in one and postpone the honeymoon on your next vacation together, because I'm an egotistical bitch who still wants you around for that whole month :-)

LOL !!! I'm not sure Stephen wants to wait until 2010 to get married :)
Nor do I think it would be fair to his family and friends for us to get married next year during the Great Get Together !!!!!
Congrats Mel. I was with Rosanne when she finally found out what the bouncing was all about and boy she's really happy for you, me to
That's pretty much what I thought, sweetie! I'd love to be able to make it, but I know it won't be possible. At least I don't think so...
And it's been a really long time since I was at a wedding :-(
Erm....the gibbering thing...it's catching...seeing the "B" word in print...yikes....
Well as long as it's not taffeta and ruffles... I'd be in for the talking Claire into being a bridesmaid bit...
{shines halo and realigns it} "Yes Mel - we are wililing to fly in for the wedding as soon as Stephen finds a date that doesn't scare you silly."
Time for the opposite of squee...the anti squee which is an ugh....it's off, all off, sigh.
Yeah, I've gotten closer to caught up :(
Not necessarily - just up for further discussion - much much much further discussion .......
Woooo Hooooo! Congratulations Mel! I know you two have a lot of details to figure out, but that's just details - the hard part is over!! Finding the right one to spend your life with, after that everything else will be cake. = D
Really *wonderful* news!
Ah - that must be why I'm allergic to cake :)
ok, I've missed something here? what's going on/
Small amount of deprecation but also a play on words .... I am gluten intolerant *and* allergic to wheat - so I can't eat cake :)
OH, sheesh, I was getting worried because of Claire's comment up above about the 'anti-squee' - everything is still fine, right?
And ditch the cake - how about chocolate covered strawberries and a splif of champagne instead?
Let her eat... something other than cake? :-)
well I could make a rather rude comment about preferring to being eaten - but I think that comes more in the conversation regarding the honeymoon and probably shouldn't be for public "consumption".....
The idea of chocolate covered strawberries sounds good though - how many Chocolatiers are in Perth honey?
Which immediately brought to mind the Eddie Izzard bit about "cake or death"....
Wow, Mel, I'm so behind I just found this posting. CONGRATULATIONS!! Lovely to see you blushing happily. Squeeing along with all of you!
Oh I adore Eddie !!!
