My Kingdom for some needles

Caron Wildflowers are too thick to go through the eye of some John James petites size 28 needles.

My kingdom for some size 26 needles.

Or maybe just some more patience.

Off to stitch some more !

And you don't have anything else?? really? Shame I can't send a size 24 through the net....sorry:(

Scarily enough after searching for hours and then finally posting my frustration - I found an unopened packet of size 26 five minutes later!

They weren't petites, but who;s counting - they had the slightly bigger eye and that's what mattered :) Got a lot of progress done on Jane's present tonight.

Oh good...would bug the hell outta me if I couldn't find the right size needle.

Often, I find a lot of perles and even the Wildflowers are difficult to get though anything smaller than a 24. The seem to unravel the thread quicker.

EXACTLY the issue I was having with the petite 28s

I can make 26's work, but 24's are better - since I don't have any except for one that is about 2 1/2" long and is like trying to stitch with a twig :(

I finally found some 24 petites at the LNS the last time I was there - makes stitching on those counted canvas pieces so much more fun!! Glad you finally found some 26's - I have plenty, but kinda tough to just pop one into your email!

When I read the comments here then I'm grinning, because when I started out using the petites everyone made fun of me and thought me queer, LOL.

But I still keep a couple of other sizes around....

Ooooh I've *got* to add them onto my Lust List !!!

Mariann and Karen are right - after using the petites, every other needle feels so big and awkward!

Yep - if anyone sees a 22 petite, let me know - I've had to use a couple, and they feel like I'm using a tree trunk to stitch with! :)

I'm shifting between 22's (Winter Sampler) and 28 petites (A Canadian Journey and Holland) with the odd 26 thrown in (Sea Stars has a 26 and a 28 tucked into it. I'm always buying needles - even my sister has cottoned onto this and found me a pack of JJ double ended needles in a closing down sale and gifted them to me. When I recently tidied, I had a dozen packs of 28's and two packs each of 26's, 24's and one 22's with a mixed pack of 18-24's as well.

Well this gives me a few ideas for what to tuck into those Christmas cards this year! ;)

Ooooh! Something I never would have thought of! I never have excess needles lying around the place. One in each project and then go hunting -or cannibalizing whenever one gets broken, lost or is too badly worn.

I generally have lots of needles, but with the current number of TW WIPs I have, needles are in a bit of a short supply at the moment!
