Wedding Dresses

Stephen sent me this LINK

with the comment: No. That's all I'm saying.

Do I dare admit that I actually like the red one ?????

You know these remind me of the dresses Sisu was hunting down for me to wear at the Great Get Together ......

Okay...I'm heading for the bucket I always keep ready in the corner just for special occasions like this one......

But you know I really like that red one, too :-)

If you ignore the Hello Kitty detail then yes, I will concede that the red dress is ok.

Yes, of course you have to ignore the Hello Kitty things. What I should have said was: I like the colour and the cut of the dress...

My thoughts exactly - yes.

Hack off the icky bits on the red frock and even I'd wear it! The rest of them; well Claire, is there and spare capacity in the bucket becaue they want to make me hurl. BTW, if I ever get married, I'd chose jeans and T shirt and encur the wrath of mother and sister!

Ye Gods and Little Fishes, people MAKE these things! I can see you in Red and Black Gothy but NOT that one!

Even my 4 year old daughter who adores Hello Kitty said YUCK...

I like the shape of the red one and the white one, but as is, they are more than suitable for a sleep-over and dress-up with your other 8 yo friends :)

I'd just like to say again, for the record, how glad I am that I have boys :)

Dress shopping was my favorite part of the wedding, and I actually like the red one too, but the others...YUCK!

Red yes but without all the frou frou. Since you're not a 21 year-old, what about something sexy and dramatic? No need to look like a meringue!

To be perfectly honest I have NO IDEA what we are doing for the actual wedding.

Jeans, shirts, a visit to the registry office followed by a picnic with friends has major possibilities.

As does a neo-Victoriana (with corsets gloves and parasols) in the botanic gardens fully catered. Just think ladies you could dress up as your favorite bodice ripper heroine ???

Honestly it will depend on when where and what the finances are by that time. Also whether or not any of you guys can make it. If any of you are coming, we will definitely put on a bigger shindig than jeans and a picnic :)

{Mel staggers} OMG !!!!

There's hope for Emily yet :) :) :)

No none of these were real candidates :)

I was pretty shocked myself - I checked to see if it was a kid in a mask or if she had a fever. She said the dresses weren't ruffly enough for her!!!

Paula Hubert said...

Claire, move over, please... I need that bucket - QUICK!!!

And while we did have ours catered, our reception was very casual (shorts and hawaiian shirt type casual!) and food was the same - pretty much a barbecue...nothing wrong with a picnic, Mel! We were more comfortable, and so were our guests, so everyone had a good time!

Jodie Hill said...

We had a small, intimate church wedding with immediate family and then our reception was a big pig roast in my parents' backyard. It was a lot of fun, and I don't think anyone minded coming in shorts and t-shirts!

I like the idea of friends in casual gear and a picnic in the park.

I also like the idea of seeing ladies in full Victorian with Parasols strolling the Botanic Gardens ....

Well we've got a long while to make up our minds :(

Paula have you done with that bucket! Iain is getting me a cup of hot tea!
The red dress is sort of ok!!!!!!!!

Claire EJ said...

Flipping hell...provided there's some way to get the money together for this shindig, I don't see me in full Victorian somehow...with DM's...

Melissa Hicks said...

???

Rachel Cox said...

Oh yes the DM's would complete - do you think the red tartan ones????

Rachel Cox said...

Melissa Hicks said...

OH !!!! Doc Martens !!!!!

Honey you can wear Doc Martens under women's Victoriana - they wont be seen.

Wearing them with the men's outfits might be a touch more problematic :)

Rachel Cox said...

Well this witch is heading to bed - midnight here!
It has been fun!

Melissa Hicks said...

Glad we can amuse you :) One hour until lunch here :)

Claire EJ said...

OMG, Rachel, where did you find those! They would be perfect for me.

Sisu Lull said...

((shudder))
Yes, the red one is hot, but not with the details.
And Mel, if I could talk DH into 2 overseas trips in this life time, I would be there wearing a coconut bikini if that was what it took.
Whatever you decide, have fun. We did that with our wedding. It was huge, but casual. 13 years later we still have people telling us how much fun they had at the reception.

I like the red one too, but the rest are just scarily hideous. You know that somebody out there is wearing one....

Melissa Hicks said...

Don't! These were in my nightmares last night .....
