Ugh is my only comment on the election! And Thank Goodness my phone will quit ringing every 5 minutes! I will vote tonight and that had better end this nightmare for me. Having a political husband is the pitts!

be glad when it is done!

{crossing fingers it will be done}

So when's the actual handover and inauguration? I mean we have to have Bush in there for a while longer don't we?

Your country isn't like mine where Howard had to pack up and be out by the weekend ....

i am in scotland! no idea!!!!!
We are like you in and out! All done!

I wish! No, W will still be around until Jan 20 and he's certainly planned a flurry of last-minute proclamations and rules to screw things up one more time. Just to assure his place in history as one of the worst presidents - ever.

The inauguration is always on January 20th after the election - so next January

It's currently Obama 103 to McCain's 34 electoral votes (270 needed to win) but it's still early in the counting game (however, things are looking hopeful)

200 to 90!

I hear he's taken Penn and Ohio and its neck and neck in Texas ??????????

Texas ???????????????

Oh I see - only 1% of the vote has been counted ....

Tina Starke said...

Pennsylvania and Ohio went to Obama. Texas to McCain but I don't that that was ever in doubt. Current electoral vote totals (as of 10 pm Eastern time) is 207 Obama, 135 McCain. I think it's also a safe bet that California, Oregon, and Washington will go Obama (73 electoral votes between them, enough to push Obama over the top). BTW, 2 very strict anti-abortion proposals on the ballots in Colorado and South Dakota were defeated (so much for the Palin effect).

Breathe Mel! NBC News is projecting Obama as the 44th President of the United States with 284 electoral votes (as of 11 pm Eastern time) to McCain's 146.

This is exceptionally good news !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yup just got out of a meeting to have four different people tell me on my way back to my desk.

It is a measure of the impact of a bad leader when people in an office in a different country are waiting with bated breath and then celebrating wildly !!!!

Tina Starke said...

It also says something about a bad leader's party when their candidate is soundly defeated and other party members lose their seats. However, I am concerned that politics in the US will become even more polarized because moderate Republicans were defeated so that leaves only the lunatics to repopulate the ranks.
