This is how I believe it would look on the wall and I just don't think there's enough colour difference. So I'm going to have to frog the Dark Seaweed and re stitch it. I was thinking perhaps a metallic gold?
Yup, I took one look at the model picture and said we needed to "Mel" it up a notch. That was a problem though, knowing you still needed to be able to see words on top. With the flash, they show up great, so if that looks true enough to life, I would say keep on stitching. I like that saying a lot. I also like not having to keep that secret any longer ;-)
The saying is what "made" the piece for me. It really sums up my attitude to marriage and is something that both Stephen and I discussed over our various conversations :)
Yup - I know in the package you said you wanted to go deeper but were worried about the wording. I looked at the Lavender and scoffed! That's not so dark!
There's a reason you are a designer and I am but a mere stitcher :) :)
Its Sisu's fault - she mentioned my generous nature - so said nature beat me around the head and forced me to do Christmas stitching I wasn't planning on - so after all of that the Engagement stitching has been put down for a few days .......
OK, I am waaaaay behind on news, but I did want to say CONGRATULATIONS on your engagement!!! I like this pattern a lot too, not so much the hearts as the saying... Now that you've finished most of your Xmas stitching, this will be done in no time at all!
The saying is why I stitching it - it very much sums up for me what marriage is about.
The reason this isn't already done is I'm still not happy with what to use for the wording - the black doesn't stand out in normal light but my experiments with gold and other metallics haven't worked either!

Colour diff between the blues?
Yes, needs to stand out more...
I like this one.
When did you start it?
Thursday night after the threads arrived - these are what I ordered from Carrie that came in the huge RAK parcel from Tracy.
Tracy and Carrie picked out the threads for me :) :)
This is looking good - I like this one! And your colors are more "you" than the originals, to be sure!
They chose well!
very nice, Mel
Looks great!
Thanks everyone! I'm still deciding whether to go forward with the back stitching, or to remove it and try again with a different colour ......
Hey - I left a comment on here, where'd it go??? Bah! Anyway - great colors - definitely much better than the model ones :)
Yup Carrie and Tracy did a fabulous job for me !!!!!!!

I like the deeper colors but there isn't much contrast in the blues.
Also Mel, check your spam e-mail folder. Let me know if you got my message.
Nice stitching. Congrats on your engagement.
I like the colors that you've chosen for the design. I also really like the saying. Congratulations again!

I got your message Sisu! Just trying to figure out how to reply - .... money versus generosity levels .... argh!

Love your color choices. Congratulations on the engagement!
It looks great with the flash, if it looks like that in real life it should be perfect!
Congrats, Mel! The project looks very nice. I kind of like the wording as is. LOVE the colors you're using!!
